While His California Dream May Have Gotten a Little Stale, this Laid Off Draftsman is Ready for a Fresh Start

Randy is originally from Southern California (Whittier), where he enjoyed hanging out at the beach. After high school, he joined the U.S. Army and spent a year at the Presidio studying Russian translation. His Russian is now rusty, but he may still be able to throw out a few words here and there.

After the military, he moved to Salt Lake City, got married and had a daughter. During this time, he bought his very first computer: an Atari 400. Now, that’s really bringing back the memories for some of the old timers. Randy got divorced and lived in Dallas, Texas for a while. He eventually moved back to Southern California.

He spent 6 years teaching electronics at ITT, then moved on to ComTech for Pacific Bell. This shows that Randy was on the cusp of the computer age, while our society moved into a new era of technology.

While living in Newport Beach (one of my favorite So. Cal places), Randy reconnected with an old friend from high school. They ended up getting married and Randy moved permanently to Northern California (near the Oregon border).

Having left his former income behind, he now was faced with finding work in a small town. Randy was able to secure a job as an AutoCAD draftsman, but, unfortunately, he was laid off last April. For Randy, there are no other offline options for someone with his skills. So, he jumped into Internet Marketing head-first, and promptly lost $7,000.

Ouch.

Now, before you assume that he got suckered in by get rich quick schemes, let me tell you that this isn’t the case. Randy had the smarts to study well-known IM names like Perry Belcher, Harris Fellman and Ryan Deiss, to name a few.

He tried Commission Blueprint and was able to draw traffic and make some sales. He set up a Twitter account and attracted 13,000 followers. He built several link rings around popular products and, for a short time, got his pages to the top of Google rankings. He’s also briefly been a member of SEnuke.

So far so good, right?

Wrong.

Randy is still spinning his wheels online. It’s like this: He’s got a nice car and has the engine all revved up, but he just isn’t going anywhere. All of his online activities have, so far, led to dead ends. Case in point? His Twitter accounts have been suspended. Now, Randy has really hit a wall. His wife has a busy dog grooming business, but she is overworked and running out of steam fast.

The couple has maxed out their credit cards and watched their savings dwindle down to nothing. For Randy, it’s really do or die time.

Randy thinks he may have first heard about the Warrior Forum (WF) from studying Jim Cockrum’s Silent Sales Machine course. He’s not quite sure, though. Regardless, he made his way there after a year of fruitless projects. Now, he’s grateful that he’s found a community that includes people who will share their time and talent helping people like him.

Right now, Randy needs to bring in enough income to pay the bills. So, when he saw that Keith Boisvert had posted up a “once-in-a-lifetime” opportunity to get free coaching, and a bunch of other goodies, he had to give it a shot.

Randy is a proud man, so he debated on whether or not to go public with his need for help. But, once he decided to go for it, his contest entry reveals a man who is hard working, yet desperately in need of some personal coaching.
